The Nervous Sock and some chocolate...

I have one sock finished for Gage-Michael. It fits perfectly. The second sock is knitted to just past the heel and gusset ready for plain ole stockinette till the toe. The sock is very nervous though because there is only a smallish ball of yarn left to finish it. I used Patons Kroy Jacquard that I had bought from Michael's and guess what? They no longer carry it. Haven't found it at Jo-anne's either... What does this mean? Will it be just enough to finish the sock? Or will it be finished to almost the toe and then that's it? I did by two balls which according to the ball band should have been enough for two plain ole stockinette socks, but I have a fourteen year old with some big honkin' feet.


So what do you do when you have a nervous sock? You make brownies of course. The good Ghiradelli fudgie kind!

Other News

Remember the blue room with the pink carpet? I fixed it, it is now the yellow room with the laminate flooring. Finn is wearing a tool belt in the picture, even though you can't see it very well.

Since fall is the season even if the state of Florida doesn't realize it yet, I put in a yarn order at knit picks for two projects I wanted to start. The first is Dee's Diamond Scarf from Piecework magazine. The second is the Celtic Tote from Interweave Knits. I've cast on the scarf, but I am not permitting myself to cast on the tote no matter how badly I want it I really need to finish some other projects first. sigh.

First Day of School Pictures

Rylin turned seven on August 12th. He is very thrilled to be seven and whenever I suggest things to him for his own safety such as wait for your brother to walk with you to school, or don't sit on the very top of your playground we're still paying for Finn's broken arm. His reply is, "I'm seven now."


In other news Finn is potty trained. He was sitting on the toilet one morning and says to me, "Bring me the newspaper." This apparently how you use the potty properly.
