My Nieces

Here are some pictures of Hannah and Cadence. It was sure nice to hold a baby girl. (sigh) Hannah sure looks like Carrie doesn't she?

Carrie's Wedding

These aren't the best pictures but these are some of the ones I had on my camera.

Update

As of last night my Grandmother is home from the hospital and my Grandfather has advanced from ICU to a regular room. My Grandfather came out of his surgery wonderful and all hospital staff are duly amazed that he is 79. However, the type of cancer they found is an agressive one and both he and my Grandmother will be starting chemo soon.

The kids and I returned home, we arrived Friday evening and are still exhausted. But it's true, there's no place like home.

Bad News from N.Y.

I am still here in Baldwinsville (some of you will actually know where this is). The wedding went great and I will post pictures when I get home as I forgot the chord that goes from camera to laptop (Durrr!)
Anyway, Sunday night my Grandmother and Grandfather Harris made an announcement to the family that my grandfather has lung cancer and my Grandmother's lymphoma has returned. My Grandfather went in for surgery to attempt to remove all cancer from his lungs at 1p.m. today. I will post as soon as I here anything.
My Grandmother is also in the hospital as we called 911 Monday night due to her having so much trouble breathing. They drained 1 1/2 liters of fluid off of her lungs and she spent two night in ICU. She is now in a regular room and is sounding much better.
I am here at their house attempting to be useful, with four kids in tow the appropriate word is definately attempt. They kept their illness' a secret from all of us wishing not to cast a pallor over Carrie's wedding. The rest of the family and their pastor are up at Community Hospital with them. Please Pray for them.

Yankee Boys!

Here is a picture I received in my e-mail of Gage and Frankie in Syracuse. Isn't it just amazing how one gets so pale the moment they go back there. Seriously, there was a write up in our paper about who gets the most average precipitation per year, nope not Seattle...SYRACUSE!!

Mark will be coming down Friday, July 13th, it was supposed to be my birthday suprise but no secret can be kept from me. He will be driving to N.Y. with me and Rylin and Finn for the wedding. We'll probably leave the 17th or 18th.
I guess Bob figured he'd have to make this birthday a big one as it's my last one. I will stop having birthdays after the 29th one.

I miss both you boys so much, try not to get ricketts from lack of sun. I'll be there you soon.

Finally! We're Done!

Finn had his surgery at 9:15am yesterday at Wolfson's Children's Hospital. Everything went well, however, the surgery was not completely successful as one had to be removed as it could not be saved.

When we saw him in recovery he was outraged; there was no other word for it. Rylin kept trying to give him a popsicle and make him smile but he wasn't having any of it. When we came home we all slept till about 4pm. Then Finn had some juice and some pain medicine and went back down for 12 hours!! Very nerve racking when they sleep that long. Complain when they don't sleep, complain when they do, go figure!

Anyway, as long as he gets his pain meds he is being quite reasonable so we're happy. He can even start swimming again on Sunday. (which means Mommy can swim again)

Finn's Fourth Surgery Date

Okay, the surgeon's office called and had a cancellation... so instead of waiting until October for Finn's surgery it has been scheduled for Thursday, July 5th. The hospital will call us Tuesday with the exact time. I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT! Not getting all bent out of shape this time.

I hope everyone has a great July 4th. We'll be eating some hot dogs and watching some fireworks.
